Lanwades Hall is an Edwardian country house, built in the Tudor Revival style, sitting at the end of a sweeping, tree-lined driveway behind mirrored gate houses and wrought-iron gates. The house has welcomed King Edward VII as a guest, and today offers that same privacy and exclusivity to every couple who marries here.
Original oak panelling, working open fireplaces, and high ceilings from a bygone era sit alongside a stunning sunken garden and terrace, orchard, meadow and woodland across 12 acres, and a Suffolk Registrars approved licence for civil ceremonies in any of our rooms and outside.
Light, bright walls and columns, a deliberate contrast to the wood panelling found elsewhere in the house. Included in every venue hire, indoor ceremonies carry no extra charge.
Plenty of space for up to 80 guests for a seated meal. Into the evening, enjoy a live band or DJ for your guests to properly dance the evening away.

Comfortably up to 80 for a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast, including yourselves, registrars and suppliers. Up to 130 for the evening reception. Planning a bigger day? For 80 to 130 day guests, your wedding breakfast can be held in a marquee in the grounds, opening onto the gardens. The marquee isn't included in the venue hire, so it comes at an additional cost.
Single-day weddings: from 9am on the day. Multi-day: from 1pm the day before, with bedroom check-in from 4pm.
We work solely with Portfolio Events, our in-house caterer. However, there is more flexibilty for the evening food if you have something specific in mind.

No real flames inside the ceremony room, real petal confetti only indoors or out, and no fireworks, any time of year.
Your indoor room can stay pre-set as backup. You can confirm outdoors right up to midday the day before, fully refundable if you switch.
